Anyway, I now have a more legit blog thing. It's at http://blankwallredpaint.blogspot.com/ if you want to check it out.

Give my love to Ms. America.

The important event of November 24th?

Cheese Grater Experience reunion.

FUCK YEAH

This is gonna be a very crowded, small show in Tom's basement with just our friends, largely to test out our new material, of which there is a bunch. This winter break we're gonna do some very legitimate business; for now, though, that's the place to get your CGE fix. There's a facebook event for it... if you want an invite, join the Super Fan Club!

Basically, I haven't been as excited for anything in a month or more as I am for Cheese Grater coming back.

Hey, another post. Weird.
10:33am 12/11/2007
I'm playing in the pit band for Little Shop of Horrors.

Read: I have signed over my soul for the week in exchange for no money (but potentially giggin' in the future, and the chance to just friggin' play).

I have to get my meningitis shot. I also have to get my sheet in to the health center so I can register for classes.

Writing The Essay is doing its best to anally defile me. I am fighting it off, but it's so hard.

That's what she said.

I had a couple days of being eem, but I'm done with that. I decided to be chilled and happy again, and now, I am. Woo!

Still kinda lonely. But since Mell and I broke up, I've made a deal with meself to wait 'til I'm sure I'm ready before re-entering that scene. This is a good idea.

GET EXCITED, nonexistent readers--the most important event of your November MAY BE coming up on November 24th. More info when it's fo sheezy.

List is over NOW

it will probably be months before i do again.

nevertheless i sally forth!

so, nyu. it's crazy shit. i have some pretty intense friends here... my floor consists of ridiculous people. so does every other floor, seems like. they're all cool.

bass lessons with ron mcclure. look him up. it's ridiculous.

learning a ton, sleeping approx. never, working my ass off, staying straight-edge. you know how i roll.

i miss cheese grater experience so damn much.

have to go record with a friend of mine for two hours. instead of going to see grindhouse in a theater for $2. daaaaagh.

i'm done.

In more exciting news, the CHEESE GRATER EXPERIENCE VERSION 5 FEATURING MAJOR VADER is now a LEGIT BAND! So check our damn myspace. We played an hour-long set at project grad, rocked everybody's cocks (even those without cocks) AND we are now selling Tshirts. 8 dollars for yous guys. They have the Intergalactic Love Spaceship on the front, and the Cheese Grater logo on the back. Lemme know if you are interested, of course.

This Sunday the Cheese Grater rides again, it looks like... my goal is to have Sweet Alien's lyrics finished by then. We can then work out all the parts to that, Terminator, and Here Come the Photons, and I can learn John Coffee.

Then-here's the most intense part-we will have 8 fully performable (and fully epic) songs.

Here Come The Photons
Terminator
John Coffee
You Stink, You're A Stinker, And You Stink
Lexi Is A Slut
Ballad Of Joanna Pike
Sweet Alien
Intergalactic Love Spaceship

That's a one-hour-ish set son!

I also hope we can get Alexander Graham Bell sorted out soon, because it promises to be the friggin most diesel thing ever.

And it'd be nice to have a drummer. We'll probably be jamming with several shortly and perform the sacred initiation ritual (if you need us to pass over your goats and younger siblings, mark them with a black O on their forehead.)

Man I'm pumped! And I really hope we get to play at Project Grad, because we'd OWN it.

i guess seniors are exempt from finals if they have an "A" average in that class? that's diesel. I hope I have "a"s.

update: CGEvV's songs are officially up. We are myspace-savvy!

(CONCERT HIGH ALERT)

Dante, Colin and I (the GSB) just played at a coffeehouse thing in Saco and fucking brought the house down. You don't really get encores at coffeehouses, it's just not done, particularly when you've already gone way the hell over your time limit. We played an amalgam of straight no chaser and well you needn't (the latter as a really loose samba), misty, and then grooved our asses off on Cold Duck Time. Intensely. In all three, there was so much energy that the audience was just flipping out. There was actually a lot of yellin' during my solo in Straight, No Chaser and during cold duck time everyone just couldn't handle themselves, we were rocking out so hard.

Now I'm tired.

I need an adapter for some headphones so I can master Lexi is a Slut and Interglactic Love Spaceship, but once I get my hands on one (probably today) it'll be quick work. Once that's done they'll be up on the myspace, so check back.

so yesterday, i felt miserable and shaky all day. as a result i almost fell apart during my physics test because i couldnt focus or remember any damn thing. when i got home i duscovered that that was because i had a fever of 101.

i'm not sure what's wrong with me but it's not fun. it actually sucks rather a lot. i wasnt in school today (so i shouldnt have been able to do the nhs induction but i went anyway.) we got a standing ovation for "the ballad of joanna pike" at the induction ceremony because we were the most out-there of all the inductions. of course.

we discussed getting uncle monsterface, jason anderson and the best, or the remus lupins to come up and we'd open for them.

"Popular Mechanics" -Raymond Carver
11:36pm 02/04/2007
Early that day the weather turned and the snow was melting into dirty water. Streaks of it ran down from the little shoulder-high window that faced the backyard. Cars slushed by on the street outside, where it was getting dark. But it was getting dark on the inside too.

He was in the bedroom pushing clothes into a suitcase when she came to the door. I'm glad you're leaving! I'm glad you're leaving! she said. Do you hear?

He kept on putting his things into the suitcase.

Son of a bitch! I'm so glad you're leaving! She began to cry. You can't even look me in the face, can you?

Then she noticed the baby's picture on the bed and picked it up.

He looked at her and she wiped her eyes and stared at him before turning and going back to the living room.

Bring that back, he said.

Just get your things and get out, she said.

He did not answer. He fastened the suitcase, put on his coat, looked around the bedroom before turning off the light. Then he went out to the living room.

She stood in the doorway of the little kitchen, holding the baby.

I want the baby, he said.

Are you crazy?

No, but I want the baby. I'll get someone to come by for his things.

You're not touching this baby, she said.

The baby had begun to cry and she uncovered the blanket from around his head.

Oh, oh, she said, looking at the baby.

He moved toward her. For God's sake! she said. She took a step back into the kitchen.

I want the baby.

Get out of here!

She turned and tried to hold the baby over in a corner behind the stove.

But he came up. He reached across the stove and tightened his hands on the baby.

Let go of him, he said.

Get away, get away! she cried.

The baby was red-faced and screaming. In the scuffle they knocked down a flowerpot that hung behind the stove.

He crowded her into the wall then, trying to break her grip. He held on to the baby and pushed with all his weight.

Let go of him, he said.

Don't, she said. You're hurting the baby, she said.

I'm not hurting the baby, he said.

The kitchen window gave no light. In the near-dark he worked on her fisted fingers with one hand and with the other hand he gripped the screaming baby up under an arm near the shoulder.

She felt her fingers being forced open. She felt the baby going from her.

No! she screamed just as her hands came loose. She would have it, this baby. She grabbed for the baby's other arm. She caught the baby around the wrist and leaned back.

But he would not let go. He felt the baby slipping out of his hands and he pulled back very hard.

In this manner, the issue was decided.

the CGEv5fMV show was just fucking outstanding. I think we're all geniuses, or idiots with stage prescence. Or a combination of the two. "I feel good" was also diesel (Albie is amazing), and the thing with ludington/skeff was, eh, okay. I really hope that Cheese Grater (CGEv5fMV) does open for Uncle Monsterface. It could be our big break! In the meantime we gotta record Intergalactic Love Spaceship and make it a music video, so it can be our Hit Single.

IHOP was tonight. Katherine and Beaver arm wrestled. I have to reinvite Katherine to Facebook. Oh yeah, I have the plague, so a lot of the time I sound like Morpheus. I checked against the song Stairway to Heaven-I can hit a low A today, and sometimes a low G, which would (for those of you less musically knowledg'd) be an octave below the lowest line on bass clef, or in otherwords really damn low. the downside is I feel like hell all over my body. I coughed up blood a couple times. Ah, well. such is life.

I think I would like to be a rock star. Being up on stage last night and seeing everyone getting so into it was just such a crazy good experience. At any rate you'll be seeing a lot more of me in the rock slash dancetastic music scene round here, in cheese grater experience version 5 featuring major vader and other groups.

Oh yeah, if you wanna check out a jazz show on Saturday, let me know. Because we're doing one. It's my all-star quartet with Dante, Colin Kolmar from Saco on drums (he burns) and Dylan Sherry on tenor sax (he also burns). We figured the best way to record a demo would be to just have us a house concert.

Keep the peace, mes maison-garcons.

this is a good bit of year right around here. things are great between me and most folks right now... i got into NYU and apparently am basically in at Barrett... coffeehouse next week which I am in 1/3 of the acts for, literally... and I'm gonna go see Brian Bromberg in Boston thursday.

I think the thing I get the most fulfillment out of is bringing excellent people together. the IHOP crew for instance (of course I'm not gonna take full credit for that but you know) is now very tight... eternal friendships have been sworn... i just want to get the SYL back together now
